Drug Cartels

“A chilling message from the cartels: Billboards with hanging mannequins warning cops to choose ‘silver over lead’ appear in Texas”

Mexican drug cartels are threatening police in Texas with death if they don't accept bribes from the cartels.  Police corruption is one of the most insidious things that can happen to an agency.  It not only destroys the police department, but also the very people they are sworn to protect.

Some have suggested that we use the military to protect our borders and to fight drug cartels.  I disagree.  Corruption in the military of that type would destroy our nation.  Police agencies should deploy special units to fight cartels in their jurisdictions.

Officers should get special background checks to insure they are not on the take.  They should have their background checked again and again frequently.  They need special protection for themselves and their families.  This should be true for judges and district attorneys too.  We need to insure this type of evil never makes a strong foothold north of the border; that's what the SGT Says.

The border is open because our government wants it open. Securing the border is relatively simple, but it would cost the politicians their votes and their fortunes.

Yes, border security is not that difficult.
