Beretta is making a new back up gun or off duty gun called the Nano.  It comes in either 9mm or in .40 S&W.  It is a polymer frame and has few external features, making it easy to get out of a pocket or hidden holster quickly.  Fast, smooth draw are important features of off duty guns.

The most important thing about an off duty gun is not the caliber, number of rounds or much else, except that you actually carry it, all the time.  Too often officers don't carry it to church, or the beach, or the gym, or the store, or to many other places.  Eventually they stop carrying it at all.

Having a great selection today is an important advance of where were were 20 or 30 years ago.  Now there are many excellent concealed carry guns because of the large civilian market for concealed carry guns.  I am glad that decent, honest people can defend themselves and I am glad it has made many new guns for cops too; that's what the SGT Says.
