Local Control

I have read a few articles and Internet posting recently about people who don't like the police.  They think the police use excessive force and are not public servants.  This is one of many reasons why police should always be under local control.

If you don't like the police, then vote out your city council or county supervisors and get new ones that agree with your theory of law enforcement.  Then the police will behave as you want them to behave.

This is why we should not take Federal money and if we take Federal surplus equipment there should be no strings attached.  Since local tax dollars pay for police, the local people should get the type of policing they want; that's what the SGT Says.

The politically incorrect truth is that most people who protest the police either couldn't vote them out anyway because felons can't vote, or are simply upset over what someone (often the liberal media) told them rather than the facts of an incident. I have often talked to people who "Hate cops" before they knew I was a cop. A few questions later it's obvious their disdain is based on a speeding ticket, their political upbringing, or the fact that hating the cops is the "cool" thing to do in some circles. The same hippies that preached "Don't trust anyone over 30" are now Professors, Politicians, and Reporters preaching "Hate the Police".

I agree, it's foolish people who don't know what they are talking about, or criminals who "hate cops" most of the time.
