Local Control

Some people are concerned about a military training exercise called Jade Helm.  I don't think it is anything to worry about.  Still, one of the bastions of freedom in this nation is an armed citizenry and local control of police.

This is why police should be under local control.  There are nearly 800,000 police in the United States.  They should not ever be moved from local control to Federal control.  The presence of nearly a million armed, trained, organized people who have sworn to uphold the Constitution, under the control of local government is a substantial counter balance to Federal power.

The Feds should not control who we hire, or fire, or promote. They should not be funding police except to provide us surplus equipment for free. Fed police training of local cops should be limited and the DOJ should not investigate local police unless the governor of the state asks for them to investigate them; that's what the SGT Says.
