The News

"No trespassers. Violators will be shot. Survivors will be shot again."  The reporter reported that the suspect had this sign on his property.  What does that say about the mindset of the reporter?  Why did he think this sign was important to report about?

I have seen many signs just like this one.  It's simply a little joke sign, often sold in novelty shops.  Since there was a shooting on this property that involved the resident, the reporter made it out as if the sign was making a statement about the intention of the resident to shoot people.

Keep this concept in mind when you post things on line.  When you put stickers on your car bumper or on your posse box.  Think about this when you make a casual remark about a suspect or a victim.  Reporters are just looking to spice up a story; that's what the SGT Says.
