Halloween is a particularly dangerous night for police.  People dress up in masks and try to prank other people.  Sometimes they try to prank the police.  An innocent prank can turn deadly if an armed officer is confronted by someone trying to scare them.

The high volume of nighttime pedestrian traffic is another problem.  It's difficult to drive fast when loads of kids are darting out into the street.  Often they are so excited they pay little or no attention to where they are going.

Then there are those who take advantage of wearing a mask, and attacking others, even police on Halloween.  It is much easier to blend back into the crowd when streets are filled with trick or treaters.  Extra patrol the residential streets.  Watch out for perverts who want to pick up kids.  Drive slower than usual.  Be extra careful tonight, it's Halloween; that's what the SGT Says.
