"You can't impose your morality on other people."  I hear and read that all the time and it's simply a lie.  As a society we impose our morality on people all the time.  Every law we make is an imposition of morality.

Is is moral for police to take cash bribes to ignore minor offenses?  No, it is immoral.  That's why bribery is illegal.  Is it moral to take things that don't belong to your?  No, it is immoral.  That's why we have laws against burglary and robbery and theft.

As police we impose the morality of society upon the members of the society who refuse to recognize that morality.  In some places it's okay to beat your wife, but not here.  In some places it's common practice for police to take bribes, but no here.  That's why it is important for police to exhibit a high moral standard; that's what the SGT Says.
