Missing Gun

A Orange County Sheriffs Deputy put his patrol rifle on the trunk of his patrol car.  He then drove away with it there and it got lost when it fell off the trunk.  Deputies and dogs are looking for it now hours after it happened.

Who knows who may have found it or where it may turn up.  Some kid, some gangster, some terrorist, or some solid citizen who will turn it in.  Maybe it is lost in the weeds and will never be found.

Almost every cop will put his posse box, ticket book, or other gear on the car and lose it at some point in his career.  I make it a point to never put down the shotgun, or the patrol rifle except in the rack in the car or in the rack in the armory.  They are too easy to lose, that's what the SGT Says.

If there's ONE thing you HAVE to learn in ANY aspect of law-enforecemnt, it's to CHECK, then re-check, then check AGAIN...that way you avoid things such as this.

Carry on & roll safe
